Jokkeri’s Ski Centre

Jokkeri’s Ski Centre is located on Kommattivaara, a ten-minute drive from the centre of Sodankylä. There are four ski slopes at Kommatti, two of which are lit at night. The hill is is 86 meters high, the slopes are about 600 m long. The Ski Centre also has a café and equipment rental during the opening hours of the slopes.

Jokkeri –  AKA Jouko Hietala – has been running the Ski Centre at Kommatti for almost 30 years. The Ski Centre is a family-run business,  and a favourite with local families, as the slopes are suitable for everyone.  In addition to the Ski Centre, there are biathlon (ski/shoot) stadium and cross-country ski track in the Kommattivaara area, as well as a comprehensive, traditional and free-style trail network of prepared tracks, totalling about 20 kilometers. There is a total of 13 km of illuminated trails.
