The business has been operating in Sodankylä since 2000 and at its current location for over 20 years. From the beginning, Kari Niemi, the founder of Lahjatalo, made various gift products in his own workshop from the box, both for his own store and for resale around Lapland.
In the summer of 2023, it was time for a generational change. The operation of the workshop was transferred to an outside entrepreneur, and Kari’s son Olli-Matti Niemi became the owner of Lahjatalo.
At the same time, the appearance of the store got a new look and the selection began to be updated to even better meet local demand.
